Start from the circuit requirements: supply voltage, current, interface and package. Match the manufacturer part number and board revision. Check pinouts in the original documentation, since similar modules may use different layouts. Confirm whether cables, headers and batteries are included. Test modules individually before integrating them. Unknown specifications should be verified with the supplier rather than assumed.
